Say cheese, Garland: Kraft headed to Dallas suburb with new hub

A top consumer products firm is renting a major distribution and storage facility in Garland.

Kraft Heinz Co. – which sells everything from cheese to catsup – is leasing 260,959 square feet in the Logistics Pointe Garland business park at 2600 McCree Road in Garland.

Logistics Pointe Garland was originally built as a grocery distribution center for Tom Thumb with more than 1 million square feet of space.

Kraft Heinz’s new facility in the project includes 90,000 square feet of cold storage and was leased from Westmount Realty Capital.

“We are excited that Kraft Heinz will be leasing at Logistics Pointe Garland,” Clifford Booth, president and CEO of Westmount, said in a statement. “This year we have made significant improvements to the property, including increasing the building’s cold storage capabilities, which has made it a fierce competitor in the┬áD-FW revitalized industrial market.
